About
Art on Cards is an innovative art project that invites people to engage with contemporary art through play, learning, and collecting, using cards created by some of today’s leading artists.
Artists & Decks
Each Art on Cards deck is conceived in direct collaboration with the artist, who personally selects both the images and the accompanying words in dialogue with the curator. The editorial product is developed in collaboration with Magonza, the project’s publisher and production partner. The glossary and imagery in each deck originate from the artist’s own world: words, concepts and images that belong to their universe.
Playing Sessions
& Events
This section brings together the events and playing sessions of the Art on Cards community, held in museums, schools, universities, foundations, galleries and gathering spaces. Each session is a shared experience in which art is activated through play, conversation and collective interpretation—from intimate tables to larger public programmes.
One Card
This is a dedicated section in which a single card from the deck is periodically brought into focus.
Each card is explored through different voices: the artist’s own reflections, the curator’s reading, and invited authors’ interpretations. Together, these texts open the card to multiple layers of meaning, connecting its image, word, and symbolic resonance.
Stories
Meet the artists and explore the world behind Art on Cards through interviews, articles, conversations and curatorial insights. A space for discovering the ideas, practices and stories that shape each deck and connect the cards to the wider world of contemporary art.
